ChemicalChemical Weapons were first used in WW1 (1914-18), during which gas warfare inflicted more than one million casualties suffered by combatants in that conflict and killed an estimated 90,000. In the years since then, chemical arms have been employed numerous times, most notably in the Iran-Iraq War (1980-88) and the Syrian Civil War. The United States and the Soviet Union, during their decades of confrontation in the Cold War(1945-91), built enormous stockpiles of chemical weapons.

BiologicalDuring WW1 (1914-18), Germany used Biological Warfare agents for sabotage. horses being shipped to allies were infected with anthrax or glanders. this kind of sabotage was carried out in the USA, Romania, France, Spain, and later in Argentina, and Norway, these actions did not have military consequences. Rather than chemical weapons being used to kill or disable, in 1914 the French used tear-including irritants. The French used 26 mm grenades of ethyl bromoacetate, and the Germans used 19 cm. The Germans used the fragmentation shells against the British at Neuve Chapelle. Chlorine was the first fatal bio weapon. its a yellow-green gas with a strong odor, the smell was a mix of pepper and pineapple. First used by the German forces at Yrpes April 1915. At first the Chlorine backfired on the Germans, as they unequipped to deal with it.

NuclearThe World's first nuclear weapons explosion on July 16, 1945, in New Mexico, when the United States tested its first nuclear bomb. Nuclear bombs were only used twice in warfare, in the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945-about 13,400 reportedly remain in our world today and there have been 2,000 nuclear tests. Years later the Soviet Union conducted its first nuclear test explosion. The United Kingdom (1952), France ( 1960), and China (1964) followed. Up to date today Nine Countries have nuclear weapons: United Sates, United Kingdom, Russia, Pakistan, Israel, Soviet Union, China, North Korea, India, And France.

How Weapons of Mass Destruction came about throughout the 20th century.
Biological and Chemical weapons.Biological WMD's were first used by the United States in 1762 when the British officers planned to distribute blankets with smallpox. Attempts such as this continued during wars, soldiers were steadfast killing off there enemies. WMD's appeared during WW2 after the use of the atomic bombs. in the mass consciousness, weapons of mass of destruction are usually associated with atomic weapons, although the concept includes certain chemical and bio weapons. The United States tested mustard gas and other chemical agents including nitrogen mustard and lewisite on up to 60,000 servicemen during and after WW2. By the end of WW2 Nazi Germany had produced some 12.000 tons of deadly chemical compound, enough to kills millions of people. November 11, 1918, the use of chemical weapons such as chlorine, phosgene, and mustard gas had resulted more than 1.3 million casualties and approximately 90,000 deaths.
